From April 29th to May 1st, 2023, ‘Pic&Nic a Trevi. Art, music, and snacks among the olive trees’ took place. It’s the spring oleotourism event that has been enhancing the territory and excellent products of Trevi (PG) for 14 years. This year, it also featured the producers of the ‘Amerino Tipico. Land, Flavors, Community’ project, with a selection of iconic local products available for tasting.
There were several occasions that led to the knowledge of the typical Amerino products and the landscape they come from, hosted in the frescoed halls of the seventeenth-century Villa Fabri in Trevi: guided tastings of Monocultivar Umbrian oils in comparison: Rajo, Moraiolo, San Felice, Frantoio, and Dolce Agogia, curated by Angela Canale, head Panelist of the Umbrian PDO; the retrospective tasting of old vintages of Trebbiano wine, a comparison between Spoletino and Amerino curated by Giampaolo Gravina, wine journalist, and writer; the Oleocentric Aperitifs curated by Chefs Michele Pidone and Armando Beneduce, of the “Evoo Ambassador” circuit, the network of excellent Umbrian restaurants and wine shops created by the Strada dell’olio e.v.o. Dop Umbria, which in collaboration with the Amerino Tipico project, proposed pairings of monocultivar Rajo oil from the Suatoni Mill with excellent local products such as the Black Celery of Trevi, the Cooked Fava Beans of Amerino, both Slow Food Presidia, and the cold cuts from the Tamburini Butcher Shop in Montecastrilli (TR).
Collaborations and initiatives of Amerino Tipico continue throughout the regional territory with ‘Amerino©. Integrated Actions for the Territorial Food Strategy of the Amerino Landscape,’ the new project for territorial development and food valorization as a key element for territorial innovation. It aims at cooperation among public and private entities in the territory to build the ‘Amerino©’ brand as a driving force of the territory itself. It’s a new opportunity to narrate the Amerino landscape, promoted by the Municipalities of Amelia, Alviano, Attigliano, Avigliano Umbro, Baschi, Giove, Guardea, Lugnano in Teverina, Montecastrilli, Montecchio, and Penna in Teverina.
