At Slow Wine Fair in Bologna, the fair for good, clean, and fair wine has begun. Umbria, through Umbria Top Wines, is a protagonist at the fair with a selection of wineries that exclusively work in organic or biodynamic methods. Among these is Cantine Zanchi from Amelia (Tr), featuring Ciliegiolo and Malvasia DOC Amelia wines and Rajo extra virgin olive oil.

Only eighteen wineries from the region were admitted to participate by the tasting commission of the fair, within the regional space organized by Umbria TopWines (P15Stand T1/T18). The fair, organized by Bologna Fiere under the artistic direction of Slow Food, brings together over 750 selected wineries and wine industry operators from 21 countries and all Italian regions.
In Umbria, according to the Slow Wine 2023 guide, the momentum towards clean viticulture is now unstoppable, with an increasing number of wineries transitioning to organic or biodynamic practices year after year. According to the guide’s data, Umbria is witnessing a movement led by a new generation of winemakers with a strong connection to the territory and a more natural approach, which bodes well for the future of the regional wine sector.
Cantine Zanchi is a partner in the Amerino Tipico project, which aims to define a strategy for territorial development and enhancement of food as a key element for territorial innovation ( go to see how to express interest in joining the Amerino Tipico project –> www.amerinotipico.it/il-progetto/
